And were off....!

It finally hits me this week...we are picking up our lives and moving to another country for 2 years. We are sad to be leaving friends and family; saying "goodbye for now" is the worst.  We've been asked a lot how we feel about leaving, so here are a few feelings we've gone through the past 6 months:

- REALLY sad about missing our parents : (
- Ben is sad about missing Moe's
- I'm nervous about teaching high school students (in addition to middle school).
- We are anxious about the long flight (Dulles - San Fran - Seoul - Singapore - Chiang Mai)
- Hopeful we don't get ripped off buying things in Baht ($1 = 36 Baht)
- Ready to bare the humidity (and not complain about it)!
- Excited about our first apartment together, eating a lot of Thai food, meeting our co-workers, and taking in the Thai culture!

APIS is made up of two schools - the Main Boarding Campus and the Primary Campus. We will be living at the Main Boarding Campus about 25 min drive from downtown Chiang Mai. One of the perks of international teaching is that many schools provide housing, including APIS, and we're lucky to also have access to three meals a day since it is a boarding campus. We have about a week and a half of "Back to School" training and learning the ropes before we start school August 8th. They run on an A/B schedule which I am very excited about. Ben has coaching responsibilities and I will be a club sponsor for an after school activity (I'm hoping for soccer or volleyball). Our holidays include a week in October, three weeks for Winter Break, two weeks for Spring Break, a few 3 day weekends for holidays and 6 weeks for Summer Break. We hope to get some suggestions for our Bucket List soon :)

Check out our tabs if your interested in how we ended up landing our dream job and to learn about Chiang Mai. Thank you for stopping by and we will update you soon!
